How would you spend £1bn on sustainable rural development?

Would you….?

improve the advisory services to help farmers improve biodiversity and store more carbon in the soil?

strengthen supply chains between rural areas and cities to make organic and local food more widely available?

invest in ‘animation’ to get communities, farmers and other rural businesses working together better and innovating?

spend more money on training – for example, growing, small-scale processing and cooking fresh local food?

help new growers and farmers get access to land?

The 2014-2020 Scotland rural development programme is out for consultation – see  www.scotland.gov.uk/Publications/2013/05/9633 for details.

Nourish is consulting its own network – here’s our summary and some questions we’d like you to help us with.
