For food, health and climate: Global cities and governments launch Glasgow Declaration ahead of COP26

Today Nourish Scotland, IPES-Food and partners launch the Glasgow Food and Climate Declaration.

COP26 comes to Glasgow in less than a year’s time. It’s the most important global decision point since Paris. With the food system accounting for at least a quarter of greenhouse gas emissions, there is no path to net-zero without a transformation in the way we do food. The road from Paris to Glasgow goes through the farm gate.

The Glasgow Declaration is a commitment by cities, regions and governments to tackle the climate emergency through integrated food policies, and a call on national governments to act.

During today’s special launch webinar, we’ll be joined by the cities of Barcelona, Glasgow, London, Milan, New Haven, Paris, Quito and Surakarta, as well as the FAO and the Scottish Government.
