SRDP 2014-2020 Consultation Roadshows – Nourish needs your help!

The Stage 1 Consultation for SRDP 2014-2020 is due to be issued by the Scottish Government today, 1 May 2013.

To complement this, the Food and Rural Communities Directorate are holding a series of roadshows over the next few weeks, beginning this evening in Portree. Scottish Government officials will give a short presentation about the document and will be available to take questions. The events are open to the public and you don’t need to book in advance.

Here’s a list of the Roadshow dates:www.scotland.gov.uk/Topics/farmingrural/SRDP/SRDP20142012/SRDPConsultationRoadshows

and here’s more general info about SRDP 2014-2020: www.scotland.gov.uk/Topics/farmingrural/SRDP/SRDP20142012.

You can find a link to the consultation document here. Responses should be sent to SRDP2014-2020Consultation@scotland.gsi.gov.uk.

How can you help? Here’s the Nourish response to the first round of consultation – pages 3 and 4 show the list of Nourish ‘asks’.

We’d love to see as many Nourish members as possible attend the events, raise questions about the inclusion of the Nourish ‘asks’ and explain why they are needed in your own areas. Please let us know if you do attend and feedback by adding a comment to this post.

Thank you.

  1. Food independence has to be the most important issue. I’d like to see some decent funding for urban initiatives too. There are countless spaces in the cities that could be used for food production. There are some really inspiring rooftop and vertical gardens springing up around the world just now.
