This March-April, the UK-wide Landworkers Alliance, in collaboration with Coventry University, are conducting research to measure the productivity of small scale agroecological farms and market gardens across the UK: ‘A Matter of Scale’.
They note that there appear to be no other sources of data on the productivity of small farms in the UK. The research thus aims to build a bigger understanding of this segment of our food system among researchers and policy-makers and will also inform their campaign to get better support for small scale producers.
