Professor Olivier De Schutter will be delivering a public lecture entitled “Food security versus food sovereignty: The clash of paradigms”.

Olivier De Schutter is the former UN Special Rapporteur on the right to food and Professor of international human rights law, University of Louvain and Co-Chair of the International Panel of Experts on Sustainable Food Systems (IPES-Food). Professor De Schutter is a leading expert in global policy debates to achieve sustainable and social just food systems.

This event is free and open to the public. A reception will precede the lecture from 5:30 to 6:30PM. The venue is located at The University of Edinburgh, 50 George Square Lecture Theatre G.03, Edinburgh EH8 9JU.
