We’re delighted to be joined by Rob Davidson, Farm Manager at the Cyrenians Farm social enterprise from where we supply a range of organic salads and vegetables. We’ll be hearing how by running a working farm they are also able to sustain a home for a community of young vulnerable people, many with experiences of homelessness.

Formal Dig-In AGM proceedings will start at 8pm, please feel free to join us even if you can’t make the talk from Rob at 7.15pm. The AGM will comprise of the formal business of the AGM; the election of new Management Committee members and a structured discussion on the strategy for Dig-In over the next 1-3 years. To find out more about our AGM – check out our website.

Join the Management Committee

If you’re interested in joining our Management Committee, please read on for a flavour of what we do.

The Management Committee meets monthly, and our key responsibilities are:

For more information, check out the Management Committee Handbook. If you’d prefer to have a chat about any of the roles, please contact Dig In Chair, Catherine Francis.

What’s it like being on the committee?

You will be part of an informal group who work together to oversee the business. Management Committee members also have a hands-on role in supporting shop staff, for example by training volunteers, organising events at the shop and promoting our business externally.

As the Management Committee are all volunteers, everyone understands external pressures, and we work together to ensure the Community Greengrocer gets the best they can give.

We meet once a month from 6-8pm, at a venue in Bruntsfield/Morningside, currently on the fourth Monday of the month.

There are several small sub-groups that act as informal working groups to help develop aspects of the business. The subgroups consist of volunteers, staff and Management Committee members.  As a Management Committee member, you will take an active role in one of the working groups in addition to your input to the Management Committee.

The Chair helps guide and support the Management Committee and makes sure we function well.

We welcome diversity on the Management Committee and are delighted to have two MC members who first joined Dig In as volunteer shop staff. We are also proud to have the perspective of young Management Committee members.
