Local Food Survey Report Launch

This Thursday 18th June we will be launching the report from our Local Food Survey, and well as our new and exciting collaboration with Big Barn and we’d love you to join us.  Sadly we can’t pay for your show entry  but please do come along if you are planning to be at the show on that day!

Where:  SRUC tent, Royal Highland Show

When: 2-3pm

The launch:

Our report: Growing the Local Food Economy in Scotland, is an analysis of the survey we took of local food businesses to find out more about the challenges they face and to help us to make informed recommendations about what steps are needed next to help to grow the local food economy.  Pete Ritchie (Nourish Director) and Cesar Revoredo Giha (SRUC) will be there to tell you all about it and what we feel needs to be done, and to answer any questions.  You can download the survey and/or a summary leaflet on our “Resources” page, or if you want printed copies please email info@nourishscotland.org.uk

We also have exciting news that we will also be launching our Nourish Scotland / Big Barn collaboration.  We are joining forces with Anthony Davison and his fantastic Big Barn website and food map, to form a Nourish Scotland food map and marketplace.  Nourish Scotland members who run food businesses will get a discounted membership of the map, and Nourish members who buy products from the website’s marketplace will get a discount on produce they buy. Anthony will be there too to tell us more about it and to meet you.

Share some food with us too:

…..with a free finger buffet, made using local and sustainable ingredients, provided by the the wonderful Edinburgh Larder.

We would also like to give a free jute bag to any Nourish members that are renewing this year as a thank you for your valued ongoing support of our work. The bags will be at the event so if you come along we can give you yours on the day.  Please remember to ask us!

Hope to see you on Thursday!
