Food Beyond Borders – bringing people together

In the current political climate and the increasing referrals to food banks, we want to show how Woodlands Community Cafe and many other community food initiatives in Scotland are developing an alternative to Foodbanks. The emphasis of these alternatives is to provide safe and welcoming spaces where people from all backgrounds can get together to enjoy a healthy and nutritious meal where dignity and social inclusion are at the heart of their planning. Communities cannot provide the solution to food insecurity, however, everyone can be involved in promoting dignity – and community across Scotland are coming together to show how this can be done.
