The Scottish activist gathering is a chance for Global Justice Now campaigners from across the country to catch up and network together, plan for taking action in Scotland on our campaigns over the coming year, and share useful campaigning skills with each other. We’ve invited along Claire Hymer from independent media organisation Novara Media to give us some tips and insights into using social media to good effect. The practical skills session will also give participants a chance to experiment with making their own campaign videos for social media.
Claire will stay with us into the afternoon, when we’ll be talking about the Scottish climate change bill, which is due to be debated by the Scottish parliament later in the year. We want a strong bill that commits to zero emissions by 2040 so we need to start winning the arguments. We’ll be joined by campaigners from the Stop Climate Chaos Scotland coalition and together can begin planning a campaign to ensure a strong Scottish climate bill.
