Ethical Farming Conference: Scalable Sustainable Solutions

Thursday 16th May 2019, Rainton Farm in South West Scotland.

Tickets: £100 +VAT.  Booking will open 22nd February.

Keynote Themes:

Pasture & Soil Carbon Sequestration

  • Keynote speech by Emry Birdwell & Deborah Clark, regenerative farmers from Texas.
  • Followed by presentations and a panel debate on soil and carbon.

Nutrition & Market Trends

  • Keynote speech by nutritionist Dr Zoë Harcombe.
  • Followed by presentations a moderated Q&A on the changing market place.

Other confirmed speakers will include Nick Barnard of Rude Health, Prof Sarah Skerratt of SRUC, Mary Clear co-founder of Incredible Edibles, Denise Walton of Peelham Farm, Prof Francoise Wemelsfelder,  Prof Christine Watson, David Finlay of The Ethical Dairy and industry organisations including the Pasture for Life Association.

The programme will incorporate an extended networking lunch session which will include tasting sessions, demonstrations and performances. A buffet lunch will showcase sustainably produced food. This will include red meat and dairy, however vegan lunch options will also be available.

There will be opportunities to meet all four businesses co-hosting this conference. These are Mossgiel Dairy, Peelham Farm, Rainton / The Ethical Dairy and Whitmuir Organics.  Delegates will also have the opportunity to see first-hand the commercial cow with calf management on Rainton Farm with farm tours led by David Finlay.

There will be an additional optional evening meal and ceilidh at nearby GG’s Yard.  Details and booking information to follow.
