Food as a Relationship is a networking event for small early-stage food producers from across Scotland organised by Making a Living from Local Food, Nourish Scotland. Join us for a full-day programme with a range of speakers, a tour around Whitmuir, lunch, and lots of discussion and networking.

Programme highlights include:

A Panel on ‘Bringing into focus the producers, their products and the land.’ with input from

  • LochArthur Creamery and Camphill Community
  • Scottish Farm Land Trust
  • Scotland the Bread

A Workshop on ‘Selling food as more than the products we eat’

Booking and cost:

To book your place at the event please use our Eventbrite booking link.

To cover food, speakers’ travel and venue costs, we have to charge a modest fee of £10.00 per person. We will provide baking with coffee/tea at arrival, a soup and sandwich vegan lunch with fruit (glutenfree available) and tea/coffee top ups in the afternoon. Please let us know if you have further dietary requirements by emailing localfood@nourishscotland.org.uk.

We are keen that nobody feels they cannot attend due to cost, so please let us know if you would like assistance with this, and we will find a way to support you.

Travel:
Whitmuir Community Farm is located about 15 miles from Edinburgh on the A701, 8 miles from Penicuik, 4 miles south of the 62 bus stop at Leadburn Inn and 2 miles east of West Linton.

If you expect difficulties getting there, please email us (localfood@nourishscotland.org.uk) and we can put out calls for lifts. If you are able to offer lifts from Peebles, Edinburgh or Glasgow, we would appreciate it if you can let us know by email.
